Christmas 2022: more flowers in the home

17 October 2022

Consumers love celebrating Christmas with flowers

Starting in December, the theme on funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk will be the holiday season. Our festive content campaign will include inspiring articles, new visual materials, a special Christmas edition of Floral Signatures and a shopper activation in Germany.

A survey conducted by Motivaction shows that Christmas trees aren’t the only plants that consumers want in their home during the holiday season – they also like to buy flowers. Christmas bouquets and Christmas table decorations are particularly popular. We will be focusing on this at funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk, showing that flowers enhance the festive atmosphere not only around the home and on the dining table, but also in DIY decorations – for and with the kids – and in cuisine.

DIY
DIY decorations you can make include the hanging flower tree and the ‘Holly Jolly’ garland. We’ve got a recipe for a traditional dish involving flowers for each of our core countries. There’s also a Christmas bouquet bursting with warm colours, with stocks, carnations, Cymbidium, Delphinium and Phalaenopsis taking pride of place.

Shopper activation in Germany
As last year’s shopper activation in Germany was such a resounding success, we will be organising another one this year. We have teamed up with Fleurop Germany to put the seasonal flower Amaryllis in the festive spotlight. The approach will be the same as last year, focusing on POS, billboards and social media. No fewer than 1,000 florists are expected to take part. The shopper activation is set to run from 24 November until Christmas.

The Christmas content will be rolled out on funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk and our sister websites in Germany, France and the Netherlands, as well as on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. From 27 December onwards we will be focusing on the seasonal feeling with Celebrate Seasons Winter.
